1. How Long Will It Take To Repair And Finish?
The restoration part of any loss is complicated and the length of time will be dependent on the
severity of the loss. A Helferty's Disaster Restoration Project Manager will take you through the process
step by step and explain the time lines before starting the project.
2. Why Do I Have To Pay The Deductible?
The deductible is a pre-determined amount that is set by you and your Insurance Company / Broker.
Once a loss has happened and coverage has been confirmed, the deductible must be paid before
we schedule the reconstruction.
3. I Work Full-time, Can The Work Be Done In The Evenings / Weekends?
All of our staff and sub contractors work a regular 8-5 work day, we can provide a lock box for your door
so that access can be given to us during the day or alternate arrangements can be made.
4. Do You Think My Insurance Company Will Pay For This?
The decision of coverage will be made by the Insurance Company.
5. What is Wet?
Helferty's Disaster Restoration understands the importance of training and the use of professional moisture reading instruments to locate every area in the structure that has been affected.
We ensure that areas are discovered and properly dried out or removed,
by using infrared camera technology as well as other types of moisture meters.
6. How Long Will This Drying Equipment Be Here?
We are usually able to dry structures in 3-4 days, though some jobs require more time.
7. How is “Smoke Odour/Damage Removed”
Smoke odour is removed from your home using various methods such as: cleaning, air purification
Thermal-Fogging, Encapsulation of structural materials with specialized paints/coatings and some

8. Can My Personal Items Be Restored?
After every loss a major concern among our customers is irreplaceable personal belongings.
Such as pictures, prized heirlooms, memorabilia, document and data recovery.
These restoration processes are complex, some times we use specialist to handle
items such as computers/electronics, paintings/photos, fine metals/jewellery and watches.
Not all items can be salvaged, but we always make every effort to try.
9. “The Item is of Sentimental Value”. I Understand it is Damaged, But I Want it Back.
We can try to clean it to the best of our ability and return it to you.
10. Where Are My Contents Going?
Your contents will go to our secured and climate controlled warehouse for storage, and if required
they will be cleaned / restored, then returned when the job is complete.
11. What is a “Fire Line” cleaning system?
It is a complete process for fire damaged contents cleaning. It begins by assessing restorable contents,
then packaging / moving the items in a specific order to our warehouse, they are then unpackaged and enter our state
of the art ultra sonic cleaning process, then repackaged and put into climate controlled storage.
