In 1968 Don and his wife Lynne started their own restoration business,
with little more than a van, small garage and raw determination, they ventured out into
the restoration industry.
Don's reputation as a hard working, reliable contractor preceded him. He soon received
referrals for all types of work, from fire and water damages, too carpet and duct work
cleaning. The growing work load allowed them to add staff, vehicles, equipment and
expand the facilities. Helferty's Disaster Restoration was on the map, and making
a name for itself.
Over the years the business kept growing, providing work for many people and other family members.
Don and Lynne's children, Shannon and Devlin helped out while attending high school and
during post secondary education.
After college, Devlin joined the team full time, a few years later in 1997, he purchased the
business from his parents, this allowed them to take a much needed break after almost 30
years, yet still work as a part of the business they built.
Helferty's has continued to grow year after year, becoming a pace-setter for the local restoration
industry, by providing the highest quality of service, using leading-edge equipment and
technologies, having the most highly-trained, knowledgeable staff and a strong family for support.
